Charlene Finerty
Charlene Finerty, owner of Plans and Profits, LLC has an extensive background in the business community. A graduate of Albany Business College, her career began with a Fortune 500, The Arrow “Shirt” Company, preparing budgets, actual to budget comparisons and detailed cost per dozen studies in distribution and transportation.
She was Office Manager and Corporate Officer for a cash register sales and service business. In eight years this corporation prospered across New York State from one office to five, 7 to 85 employees and a half million a year in sales to over ten million.
In Ohio she simultaneously started an office services company, an imprinted clothing outlet and worked as a Small Business Development Center counselor where she advised clients, wrote, edited and guided clients through business plans. She later assisted a CPA with clients’ checkbooks, payroll taxes, etc. in Pa. and was office manager for a wallpaper factory.
A native of Sullivan County and a multi-year resident of Orange County, New York, Charlene is a successful entrepreneur. Plans and Profits, LLC is a member of the Goshen and the Sullivan County Chambers. Charlene has been an instructor for NY EAP (New York State Entrepreneurial Assistance Program 2003-2009 and 2010-2014), Orange County Score ESP 2014-2018, Sullivan County Cornell Cooperative Extension, presented at Sullivan County Comm. College Entrepreneurial Conference, taught business plan writing for Sullivan County Chamber (4 nights of 8 night series), presented Business Plan 101 for Orange County and Sullivan County SCORE workshops and for lenders, was co-vice chair of Orange County (NY) SCORE, etc. Former Board Member of Sullivan County (NY) Chamber of Commerce. Past Chair of Sullivan County (NY) SCORE.
Since December 2007, Charlene has written over 350 Advice From the Field business columns for the Times Herald Record newspaper, 10th largest newspaper in New York State. She has limited blogs on the Orange County SCORE site, is the subject of one of the free ½-hour radio interviews and one of the 1-hour video recordings on a set of 5 SCORE videos.
